Sports therapy is a hands-on approach to relieving pain and restoring function. Sports Therapists specialise in the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions.
They do specific tests to identify the cause of your pain. Once identified, they therapist use different hands-on techniques, stretches, exercises and other modalities to treat pain.

It is important to be comfortable as your session may include stretches and moderate exercise, so we ask that you wear shorts for your appointment.
For ladies, we ask that you wear a regular bra rather than a sports bra as they can be easily undone by the therapist once you’re lying with your face down on the treatment couch.

Yes, definitely. After the initial consultation and assessment to identify the cause of your pain, we immediately start on treatments during that same session.

Pain depends on an individual’s tolerance to pain. Most clients will feel soreness during and after treatments , particularly with massage. This is a normal response to therapy treatments.
If you find the pressure to be causing you some discomfort, you can ask your therapist to adjust it. However, to  relieve tension in muscles and obtain a good result after treatment,  we have to work at a deep level. This will give more permanent or long term results.

The initial treatment sessions have to be 60 minutes as we need enough time to discuss and assess the injury before we formulate a treatment plan. Follow up appointment will be based on your specific needs which will be discussed by your therapist.

This depends on the severity of the injury. It can only be determined by the therapist after the initial assessment. The therapist will then discuss with you roughly the number and frequency of sessions needed.

You may be given a home based program that includes stretches and or exercises.
The home program compliments your treatment plan and is an important part of your rehabilitation process as it will help you reach your goals.
